What is a Bimini boot?
A Bimini boot is a protective cover used to store your Bimini top when it’s not in use.
What size Bimini boot do I need?
Follow our instructions for measuring your Bimini top to help ensure a custom fit. We will make your boot according to the measurements you provide.
How tight should a Bimini boot fit?
A Bimini boot should close around the folded Bimini without requiring you to force the zipper. For this reason, it’s important to provide accurate measurements when ordering.
Should I measure my old Bimini boot?
We recommend following our current Bimini measuring instructions rather than measuring an older boot. An old boot may have changed after years of use and exposure to the weather.
Can you make a replacement boot if my original one is missing?
Yes. Provide us with your Bimini measurements, and we will custom make your replacement Bimini boot using those measurements.
Can I send you my old boot and have a duplicate made?
Yes. We are happy to make a duplicate Bimini boot if this is your preference.
Can I replace the Bimini boot without replacing the entire top?
Yes. If your Bimini top and frame are still in good condition, you can replace the storage boot without replacing the entire top.
Will a replacement boot fit my existing Bimini frame?
Yes. When made using accurate measurements, the replacement boot should fit your existing Bimini frame.
Why does my Bimini boot need a zipper?
The zipper allows the storage boot to close around the folded Bimini without requiring you to remove the Bimini top from its frame.
Can I send you a picture of my Bimini?
Yes. You can upload a photo when placing your order, and we appreciate receiving a photo whenever possible.
Is this a universal Bimini boot?
No. This Bimini boot is custom made according to the measurements you provide. The correct width, circumference, and light-cutout choice are important for achieving a proper fit.
What is the best fabric for a replacement Bimini boot?
We use Sunbrella® marine-grade fabric to make our custom Bimini boots. It is an excellent choice because of its resistance to fading, mildew, moisture, and sun damage. Sunbrella® is designed for outdoor use and provides excellent UV resistance and color retention.
Do I need a Bimini boot with a navigation-light cutout?
A Bimini boot with a light cutout is designed for a navigation light that passes through the center of the boot. If your Bimini does not have a light passing through the boot, choose the version without the light cutout.
Can I travel with the Bimini boot installed?
Most Bimini boots can remain installed during normal boating and trailering when the top is securely folded inside a properly fitting boot. Always follow the recommendations provided by the boot and Bimini manufacturers.
How can I make my replacement Bimini boot last longer?
Keep the boot clean, allow wet fabric to dry, and never force the zipper closed. Inspect the boot regularly for loose stitching, wear, or other damage. Cover your boat during storage whenever possible.
Can I return my custom Bimini boot?
Custom-made Bimini boots are not returnable. Please check your measurements, fabric color, and light-cutout selection carefully before finalizing your order.
