Do Boat Covers Need to Be Vented?
Absolutely, the answer is yes!
The buildup of moisture under a boat cover happens.
Rainstorms while boating are unavoidable and even if the boat has been left open to dry it will condensate moisture on the underneath side of the boat cover due to changes in temperature throughout the day.
It’s important to dry out the inside as quickly as possible, and venting allows this moisture and heat to escape and dry quicker.
We carry two styles of boat cover vent caps with screw-in installation. Both are not 'use alone' vents and should be used in conjunction with support poles.
Position them inside your boat cover and over the top of your boat cover support poles.
The support poles fit nicely in the molded receiver cups on the bottom side of these vents.
This makes pushing up your boat cover a snap!
We also now carry the Boat Vent 4™ sew in style for those who need a sewable option.

Boat Vent 2™
Boat Vent 2 has a design best suited for heavier duty applications.
- Thicker materials do best with this vent
- Very simple screw nut on the backside (comes with nut, but can also buy replacement nut here if needed)
- Boat Vent 2 will require a sew in reinforcement in the cover. Installed without reinforcement, it’s likely to rip through the cover over time.
- Size - 4.5"W x 4.5" D x 2.5" T

Boat Vent 3™
Boat Vent 3 is the newer version of Boat Vent II.
- 40% more venting to prevent mold and mildew build-up in your boat.
- Overhanging top for deterring moisture
- 30 washer teeth that provide for a better grip.
- Easy to use vent with ergonomic reversible nut that screws into your boat cover for quick and easy installation.
- Allows standard boat pole to insert in bottom side of vent – Support poles sold separately.
- Second layer of fabric not required, but helpful.
- Size - 4.75" W x 4.75" D x 2.00" T

**Not recommended for use with heavier materials that are 10 oz or higher with double sided acrylic coating such as Top Notch or Harbor Time. Boat Vent 3 may not work on these types of material since the heavier material may slip out of the teeth which could damage the boat cover.
Both Vent 2 and Vent 3 are made of tough UV stable plastic and no tools required.

Boat Vent
Recently purchased a boat vent with the boat cover repair kit. Both worked out fantastic as it both saved my current boat cover and addressed the cover from sagging in the rain.
